Biography
My name is Vanessa Putnam and I have been playing harp for years working throughout Florida, Virginia, DC, Maryland and now Pennsylvania. I am currently servicing Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Washington DC, and Connecticut.
I have always had a passion for music, starting with my mom putting me in children's choir and piano lessons as a young child. When I got to middle school I started playing harp- participating in group harp classes, orchestra, band, and musical theater. As I continued to hone my skills I began doing private events and weddings. This led me to college where I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University with my Bachelors in Harp Performance and received my Masters of Music degree from James Madison University in Harp Performance. Attending these schools gave me many performance opportunities and learning experiences that I continue to apply to my business!
Recent performances have included playing with the Long Island Festival Orchestra, being a guest artist for Stony Brook University Contemporary Chamber Players, and several solo recitals. Additionally, I have begun distributing some of my arrangements through Harp Column Music. If you are interested click here to see what is available! I also have begun teaching harp with Settlement Music School in Philadelphia.
